Podujevo, 12 September 2025

As part of its educational activities with youth, the Agency for Prevention of Corruption (APC) held today a dialogue with senior students of “Aleksandër Xhuvani” High School in Podujevo.

This activity is part of a series of meetings that APK organizes in schools and municipalities across the Republic of Kosovo, aiming to strengthen civic education and raise awareness for building a fairer, more honest, and corruption-free society.

“Youth are the force that guarantees a fairer future and stronger institutions,” it was emphasized among other things during today’s meeting.

At the opening of the lecture-discussion, Mr. Liridon Nika, Director of the Department for Administration and General Services and Deputy Director of APC, spoke about the importance of educating the new generation on the values of integrity, transparency, and honesty in public and personal life.

He stressed that corruption prevention does not start only from institutions but also from the awareness of citizens, especially the youth.

Students showed great interest in the topics discussed, raising questions about transparency, integrity, and concrete ways they themselves can report cases and contribute to preventing corruption.

Following that, Mr. Esad Ejupi, Director of the Department for Prevention of Conflict of Interest, introduced the students to the concept of conflict of interest, the challenges it brings to public administration, and the importance of avoiding it for building a fair and transparent system.

Mr. Valon Krasniqi, Senior Officer for Asset and Gifts Control, informed the students about the process of declaration and verification of public officials’ assets, emphasizing the key role this mechanism plays in increasing accountability.

The Agency expresses its gratitude to the Podujevo Municipal Directorate of Education for the cooperation, as well as to the staff and students of “Aleksandër Xhuvani” High School for their hospitality and active participation during the discussion.

APC remains committed to continuing such activities in schools and municipalities across the country, strengthening civic education and building the foundations of a fairer, more transparent, and corruption-free society.
