Pristina, September 4, 2025
At the initiative of the Anti-Corruption Agency (APC), the first meeting with representatives of civil society organizations was held today, marking the beginning of the process for establishing the APC Consultative Forum with Civil Society.
This meeting represents an important step in advancing cooperation and coordinating joint efforts in the fight against corruption in Kosovo.
In his address, the Director of the APC, Mr. Yll Buleshkaj, presented the concept proposal for the establishment of the Forum and emphasized the importance of close partnership between the institution and civil society, as a foundation for strengthening integrity, transparency, and accountability in the country.
Participants expressed their support for this initiative, agreeing that the concept would be finalized in the coming days and that procedures for the Forum’s formalization would proceed. It was also left open for other NGOs and public institutions, as well as donors and diplomatic representatives, to join.
During the discussions, the role of the Forum was also addressed as an advisory mechanism and a platform for cooperation, which will facilitate regular dialogue between the APC and civil society, as well as strengthen its contribution to the Agency’s decision-making processes.
As part of this cooperation, the organization of a week with numerous activities to mark International Anti-Corruption Day in December was also announced, within the framework of “Integrity Week 2025” – a series of thematic roundtables aimed at increasing effectiveness in preventing corruption in public institutions and the private sector.
The Agency and civil society organizations confirmed their commitment to working together to build a more transparent and accountable environment in Republic of Kosovo.
Forum meetings will be held regularly, with the aim of consolidating sustainable and effective cooperation, in service of a fairer Kosovo with strong integrity.
