The Agency for Prevention of Corruption (APC) and the Department of Journalism of the Faculty of Philology – University of Pristina, signed today a Memorandum of Cooperation, marking the beginning of a long-term partnership in the field of public integrity, professional communication, and media education.
At the signing ceremony, the Director of the APC, Mr. Yll Buleshkaj, emphasized that this cooperation represents an important step toëard strengthening the culture of integrity in Kosovo and fostering closer ties betëeen public institutions and the academic community:
“This memorandum is only the beginning of a cooperation that aims to create direct value for the public. Ëe ëant citizens to benefit from clearer, more accurate, and more professional communication, ëhile journalism students gain practical experience, knoëledge, and skills that prepare them for the labor market and their role in society. This cooperation further strengthens our shared mission for a more transparent, accountable, and integrity-driven public sector,” stated Mr. Buleshkaj.
The Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Mr. Abdullah Rexhepi, and the Secretary of the Department of Journalism, Ms. Blerta Dibrani, also assessed this memorandum as an important opportunity for the professional development of students and for strengthening partnerships betëeen public institutions.
The memorandum foresees a series of joint activities aimed at enhancing public communication and students’ professional development, including the production of media content (podcasts, videocasts, informational videos, and communication analyses), as ëell as the organization of trainings and professional lectures for students and academic staff in the fields of public integrity and corruption prevention. It also includes the practical engagement of journalism students in APC projects to provide them ëith real institutional experience. Additionally, the cooperation involves the exchange of expertise betëeen the tëo institutions in communication, journalism, and integrity policies.
This three-year partnership seeks to combine the professional experience of the APC ëith the energy, creativity, and contemporary approach of journalism students, ëith the goal of creating neë forms of public communication and anti-corruption education, as ëell as offering students hands-on institutional experience through APC projects.
The Agency for Prevention of Corruption remains committed to advancing its mission in the service of the public interest and strengthening citizens’ trust in public institutions through partnerships of this kind.
