A delegation of the Anti-Corruption Agency (APK) participated in the 22nd Monitoring Meeting and the 28th Steering Group Meeting of the Anti-Corruption Network for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ACN) of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development of the OECD. , held on October 3, 4 and 5, 2023.
At this meeting, the monitoring reports of the implementation of the Istanbul Anti-Corruption Action Plan for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Moldova were presented. The vast majority of reports presented these countries’ progress in implementing OECD standards. In addition to the reports, the network’s annual report, draft work plan for 2024 and budget projections were presented.
The director of APK, Yll Buleshkaj, was also part of the discussion panel regarding anti-corruption and integrity initiatives in the education sector in ACN countries. Buleshkaj emphasized the essential importance of the integrity plans of the university education institutions, the operationalization of safe signaling channels, transparency, and internal procedures for the prevention of conflict of interest. He also appreciated the irreplaceable contribution of student organizations and civil society organizations in ensuring institutional integrity.
