The Director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (APC), Mr. Yll Buleshkaj, represented Kosovo at the Western Balkans Anti-Corruption Conference held in Skopje from November 20 to 22, 2024. The event was organized by the U.S. Embassy in North Macedonia and the INL Office in Skopje.
During the conference’s second panel, Mr. Buleshkaj shared APC’s experiences and achievements in corruption prevention, institutional capacity-building, and public awareness promotion. He emphasized the importance of asset declarations, integrity plans, and robust mechanisms for whistleblower protection.
In his address, Mr. Buleshkaj highlighted the role of digitalization in enhancing transparency and improving mechanisms for reporting misconduct. He also underscored the importance of regional and international collaboration as key elements in strengthening anti-corruption efforts.
“Our primary role is prevention, but we also support prosecution efforts and promote public awareness about integrity. Our results demonstrate a commitment to transparent and accountable governance,” he stated.
The APC’s participation in this conference was supported by the INL Office in Kosovo, under the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo.
