The Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (APC) held an informative session today at the University of Pristina on the topic: “Conflict of Interest and Incompatibilities in the Exercise of Public Office.”
The event was attended by the Rector of the University, Prof. Arben Hajrullahu, faculty deans, secretaries, and other responsible officials, with the aim of providing information and exchanging views on the implementation of legislation on the prevention of conflicts of interest in public institutions.
On behalf of APC, presentations and clarifications regarding the legal framework and practices for handling conflict of interest cases were provided by Mr. Esad Ejupi – Director of the Department for the Prevention of Conflict of Interest, Mr. Driton Shala – Head of the Division for Counseling and Reporting, and Mr. Frasher Murtezaj – Head of the Division for the Resolution of Conflict of Interest.
During the session, concrete situations that may arise in the exercise of public office were discussed, along with ways to identify conflicts of interest and incompatibilities, as well as the legal responsibilities of public officials.
Participants raised practical questions related to the cases they face and the relevant procedures that should be followed.
This session is part of APC’s ongoing informative and advisory activities with public institutions, aimed at strengthening institutional integrity and ensuring the proper implementation of the applicable legislation.
On this occasion, the Rector of the University, Mr. Arben Hajrullahu, expressed the request for APK to continue holding sessions at the faculty level as well, in order to increase awareness and institutional responsibility for preventing conflicts of interest.
